Every email your apps send, by SMTP or PHP's mail(), lands in LaraMonster's Mail inbox instead of a real mailbox. Test password resets, invoices and notifications without ever emailing a real person.
Setting it up
Open the Mail page and click Set up Mail. LaraMonster installs and starts Mailpit, and from then on:
- PHP's
mail()function (and Laravel'ssendmailmailer) delivers to the inbox automatically, in every site. - Apps using SMTP need these
.envvalues. The new-project wizard writes them for you.
MAIL_MAILER=smtp
MAIL_HOST=127.0.0.1
MAIL_PORT=1025
MAIL_USERNAME=null
MAIL_PASSWORD=nullExample: send a test email
$ php artisan tinker
> Mail::raw('It works!', fn ($m) => $m->to('[email protected]')->subject('Hello from LaraMonster'));The email shows up on the Mail page right away, and the sidebar shows the number of unread emails.
Reading emails
Click an email to read it in three views:
| View | Shows |
|---|---|
| HTML | The email as a mail app shows it, in a safe frame |
| Text | The plain-text part (or a note that there isn't one) |
| Source | The raw message with every header, for checking From, Reply-To and custom headers |
Attachments are listed with their size and can be opened. Search filters by subject, sender and recipient; delete emails one by one or all at once.
Mailpit's own interface
While Mail is running, Mailpit's full web interface is also at http://mail.laramonster.localhost:8080 (with your own TLD and port).
