Red Flag , Privacy Notice
Last updated: 27 September 2026
This notice explains what Red Flag, the community warning board on MonstersGate, collects, who can see it, and how long it is kept. It adds to the general MonstersGate Privacy Policy.
1. What we collect, and why
What | From whom | Why |
|---|---|---|
Your account and verified identity (name, email, the ID check you already completed on MonstersGate) | Reporters and "same happened" members | Only verified people can post, and so we can respond to legal requests about content. |
The case: company name and website, what happened, when, the amount range, your description, updates | Reporters | To publish the warning after review. |
Proof files (chats, invoices, contracts, payment records) | Reporters, members, company representatives | So admins can check a submission before publishing it. |
A contact method for settling (email, phone, WhatsApp or Telegram), only if you choose to add one | Reporters | So a company that decides to settle can reach you. |
Private resolution messages | Reporters, company representatives, admins | To let the two sides settle privately. |
A company claim: work email, role, note | Company representatives | To confirm the person really speaks for the company. |
"Helpful" votes | Any member | To sort cases. |
The version of the Red Flag terms you accepted, with the time, IP address and browser | Everyone who posts or claims | A record that you accepted the terms in force at the time. |
2. Who sees what
The public (not logged in) sees company pages and case summaries: the company, the category, the month, the status and the counts. Admins can switch even these summaries off for guests.
Logged-in members also see the case descriptions and the public timeline.
Reporters are anonymous to the public and to companies: they appear as "Verified member". A company sees your name only if you choose to share it during a settlement, and sees your settlement contact only after it opens a private resolution on your case.
Proof files are never public. Only admins and the person who uploaded a file can open it. The public timeline shows only the type of proof that was reviewed (for example "Invoice").
Private resolution messages are visible only to the reporter, the company's approved representatives, and admins.
Admins can see everything above, including who reported each case, to review and moderate it.
3. How it is protected
Settlement contact details are encrypted in our database.
Proof files are stored on private storage and served only after a permission check. They never get a public link.
Timeline entries cannot be edited after they are written; admin decisions are recorded with who made them.
4. Search engines
Company pages may be shown in search engines once a company has enough published cases (admins can keep any page out of search). Case pages are always marked "noindex" and are not submitted to search engines. Reporters' names and proof are never included in anything search engines can read.
5. How long we keep it
Published and resolved cases stay while Red Flag operates, because the record is the point of the service. Resolved cases older than the period set by admins are folded under "Older resolved cases".
Rejected cases stay visible to their reporter and admins so they can be fixed and resubmitted, and so we can answer questions about moderation decisions.
Removed cases are kept, hidden from the public, as a record of the removal.
Terms-acceptance records are kept for as long as the content they relate to exists.
If you delete your MonstersGate account, your published cases remain as "Verified member" without being linked to an account; your settlement contact and private messages are no longer shown to anyone other than admins.
6. Your choices and rights
You can add, change or remove your settlement contact at any time while your case is open.
You can choose whether to share your name during a settlement.
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to review content that concerns you, by contacting MonstersGate support. Some data may be kept where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
7. Legal requests
We may disclose information, including a reporter's identity, where required by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority, or to defend MonstersGate against a legal claim arising from content.
8. Contact
Privacy questions or requests: contact MonstersGate support through the site's contact details, and mention "Red Flag"
